Best way to wean - cold turkey?

At my wits end basically. Suffering from Hyperemesis again (2nd pregnancy) and have a 15mo who still likes to feed to sleep.

I know I've made a rod for my back. DPs keep reminding me 🙄

DH reckons cold turkey would be best way. I would rather not feed but at least try expressing... Just got to find the pump.

Any and all other ideas welcome.

Will your baby take a bottle?

DeadDoorpost · 27/02/2019 13:33

We've tried with a bottle but doesn't seem to like it. A cup is more likely to work for him tbh

Has dh given a bottle with you out of sight? At 9 months sleep deprivation hit and I sent dh in with a bottle. Drank an oz. Slept all night.
Next night offered water. Refused an lay back down..
Third night slept 12 hours solid!!

I'd try cold turkey, and keep yourself well out of the way. Go to bed for some rest yourself (maybe with a pump if needed!) or out the house.
DH does bedtime in full, and every wake up. That way no whiff of milk to get them more worked up.
Feel for you- best of luck.

Thanks ladies. Currently I'd have to sleep downstairs if I was to be out of the way. Our circumstances aren't the best and are in 1 room until we can get into a house of our own. (Should be very soon)

DH can be difficult to have help from but he has tried doing bedtime without me. Has also tried a bottle but babyrefuses a bottle. May have to try water in a cup instead.

Again thank you.
