Pushchair hating baby!

Hi all, I have a darling 3 month old who rarely cries and is generally a delight to be around....unless you try to put her in the carrycot or seat unit of her travel system! We have the Oyster 2 and Maxi Cosi Canriofix, and she is happy as Larry in the car seat when attached to the chassis (will smile and look at stuff but equally nod off for naps no problem) but sobs real tears with the others. She once managed to cry until she was sick for a whole hour while I walked round our village!
The carrycot was always going to be a no go as she has silent reflux and detests being laid flat, but the seat unit can be adjusted to suit her so I’d have thought that would be ok. I’ve tried forward facing, parent facing, toys, white noise, swaddling (bad idea, she likes to suck her hands to self soothe!), different recline positions, items of my clothing, familiar blankets from home all to no avail.
Anyone have any tips? Should I hope she grows out of it or go to a pram shop and try her in different pushchairs until I find one she likes? She’s not a fan of a sling/carrier for longer than half an hour, otherwise I’d just use that - though equally my MIL will be having her when I go back to work in September (T will be 10 months by then) so she certainly won’t be up to just using a carrier anyway. The plan was that I’d buy a smaller stroller for us and pass the Oyster onto the in laws as they have a much bigger car boot (my Juke vs their X Trail) but obviously I can’t do that as things stand....

Ok, I tried again today and watched her - I think it just feels too open for her. She likes to rub her head against the side of the car seat, and also does the same thing against her Sleepyhead at night.

Can anyone recommend a system with a seat unit that feels more ‘cocoony’? Will maybe think of selling this one on and looking for a pre-owned system that’s more snuggly/enclosed.

So I was in your position a few months ago and I thought my boy would never like his pushchair like a "normal" baby. We were in the middle of a horrible developmental leap which turned him into Satan 😀. So I decided to wait and try again in a month or so. We went to shops and tried again and thank goodness he was absolutely fine. So we bought one and he loves it now. He is 6 months now. So it might just be a matter of time? He hates laying flat and always has done as he is too nosey. Have you tried him in the seat as opposed to the flat carrycot?

Sorry I've just read you have tried the seat. I would advise you not to rush out and buy a new one but maybe wait a month or so and try again. My boy cried so much every time he was nearly sick :( it was horrible but now he loves it!

Thanks guys, I think I might just carry on using the car seat on the chassis for now, taking her out periodically for half an hour in the carrier so she’s not in there over the recommended time, and then revisit the seat unit in maybe a month or so’s time.

How about putting something in to seat to make it more head hugging. We added this to seat unit when we moved little one at 4 months as she wanted to see our but needed more support to be in the seat

We had the same. All of a sudden DS started hating his pram for no reason. So I put him in a sling and used that until he was about 5 months and now he loves the pram again
