Every time DS1 (2.8) does a poo and we can smell it, we say 'have you done a poo' or 'do you need a new nappy' or similar. Always the answer is 'NO! I NOT done a poo!'. We think this stems from when he had pneumonia (last year) and got thriush after extended antibiotics so obvious having a change would hurt. But now he will poo and then hide so he doesn't get changed which results in red bum - you get the idea.

Please please if you have any thoughts/ideas tell me and I will try them!

We also have to have him potty trained for when he starts his new nursery in September - he's great at the moment and wees on the potty and even did a poo once and he's extremyl pleased afterwards. I'm wondering whether training pants are actually helpful and what brand to get?

hello t4t. don't know about potty training yet but i do know that they do not have to be potty trained to go to a mainstream nursery or school like it used to be. have the nursery told you he does? if so they are actually breaking a law that has come out in to place in the last few years.

sometimes children learn better when they see other children doing something so he might be better learning to potty train when he's fully settled in to nursery.
