Likely unnecessary panic but advice needed

Hey all .

Need a bit of advice. I am considering taking my 2 year old toddler to her usual playgroup on Wednesday.. our Nanny is on holiday and I am on mat leave so happy to do it. However I also have my 3 month old. I'm concerned about illnesses she may pick up. She hasn't been in a room with tons of of kids before. It is likely I will put her in the sling and she will sleep in there or the car seat but just wondering if anyone else has taken their little one and how it went?

I'm probably panicking from nothing (sleep deprivation) but thought I'd ask.

Thanks X

Yes from about 3 weeks old, absolutely, 100% fine.

You are panicking over nothing..
Baby will be fine..

yes of course it is fine.
Toddler groups and playgroups are full of families who have a toddler and a baby! (and no nanny)

It's fine to take a three month old, if you didn't have childcare you would probably have taken them from a few weeks old with your toddler. Sling or car seat sounds good, some playgroups have bouncer chairs and a quieter area with baby toys for little ones that aren't walking.

Goodness yes of course it's ok - babies and kids need exposure to normal environment to build immunity

I wouldn't if there was an outbreak of say measles in your area but if all generally ok yes!

Ok thanks.. I think I was just nervous about something being airborne but I am worrying over nothing. Anyway but she has to build immunity and I need to continue fitting my toddler into her routine.

Thanks all

Will be fine. Maybe keep baby up in a sling to make things easier. I took my then 6 week old (pre jabs) to my 5 year olds birthday whole class birthday party. It was fine, just kept him up and away from snotty faces.

The chances are your toddler is bringing bugs home anyway and you can't avoid them forever. You do have to take it on faith that other parents are being sensible and not bringing kids with anything more serious than a cold. I've been taking dd to groups since she was 8 weeks regularly. We've had a cold and a viral thing but she has got over them and the cold came from big bro (school age) anyway
