Son tearing his nails deep

Greetings everyone..my son 5 yrs old keeps tearing his nails..some times v deep also...i always and always keep them cut but still he manages to do it...especially everytime he comes from school..this habit of tearing nails and skin of his little fingers is making me vvv worried. it becomes so sore sometimes .help me

Are you filing the nails down so that there are no jagges edges he can catch?

I still do this from when I was younger, only if there's a jagged bit thought. I hate catching my nail on stuff all day.i recommend a glass nail file.
