Toilet regression

My LB is 4 in March and has been toilet trained since he was just about 3. He was well ready and it went smoothly despite the arrival of a new baby brother. Recently however, he has been in a regression - bowels and urine. We just put it down to a regression but it’s been going on for a while on and off then today he had no trousers on (just running around before bath) and soiled the floor.

I’m just wondering if this is normal regression or if it could be something more sinister like IBS or something? Also, looking for tips on how to handle it. We don’t want to shame him but also don’t want to make it ‘ok’ if it’s just laziness...??

Thanks all

Ah if Lao is 18 months they're not really a big recent adjustment anymore Smile

I know it's a cliche but have you tried making a huge fuss when he sees or poos on the toilet and even a sticker chart?

We definitely do make a massive fuss - and if we ever forget he makes a massive fuss sometimes at bedtime he says ‘no pee pee or pooh messes today’ but then a few days later he does it again. X

How long does he go without a poop? My dd3 would poop most days. Maybe skip one day a week.

Goes everyday i’d say. X
