my precious ds who is only 8 weeks old has not taken a proper feed for 2 days now, he seems to want to but when i put a bottle in his mouth he turns a horrid face and pushes it out with his tongue and then cries! he has taken jo more than 50ml in the last 24 hours whereas he used to take 150ml per feed!

just taken 30ml which is a breakthrough but ridiculous considering how much he took up until rcently, he has a slight cold i think - could this affect his appetite? his temperature is normal...

This happened to us. I think you should contact your GP for advice, as babies get dehydrated very quickly. Inour case DS was completely fine and managed a miracle cure in the waiting room

A cold could affect his appetite - but I really think this is a case for your health visitor or the GP - I would be worried about him getting dehydrated if he's taking so little fluid. Hope he's better soon!

just seen gp but he says there doesn't seem to be any obvious reason, he has an ulcer in his mouth which MAY make him turn down feeding as it may irritate that but i've got to go back tomorrow, such a worry but he advoised calpol so i'm trying that first. Calpol seems to be the solution to everything!

Yes Calpol is the cure-all Sorry you have to go back tomorrow but I'm glad your LO is not too poorly. Hopefully he'll back to normal by the morning.
