Good morning lovely ladies.
As the title says really.
I am a mum of 3 aged 9, 5 and 15 months, my eldest are fit and healthy never any issues since birth. All baby's have been born 41 weeks plus.
Anyways my toddler was born 42 plus 1 day.
Since October she hasn't been herself she had her 1 year old imms and since then it's all been down hill coincidence I don't know. Anyways since then she's coughed a lot, on 1st December we took her local hospital as she had a fever coughing and vomiting for 2 days, not eating either and they said she's fine just take her home. 4 days later she could barely keep her head up she was breathing so badly so we took her to a different hospital who then said she needs admitting and sent her by ambulance to Manchester on oxygen. She was admitted for 4 days and on oxygen 99 percent of the time, coughing and vomiting and fever. She was diagnosed with broncilitis, tonsilitis, ear infection and she had a bit of conjunctivitis. She was poorly, she was on 2 antibiotics and pain relief. Since then we have just been struggling, she has had a bad chesty cough, you can here her chest when she breathes like rattling crackles. Keeps getting random fevers and vomiting. Took her gp 2 week ago who gave antibiotics the course finished she seemed slightly better now 3 days after they finished last night she started with a fever, vomiting and coughing. I'm at my wits end as I've had so much time off work to look after her I've lost so much money not going in to work plus paging childcare fees of 200 a week when she's hardly been there, I feel like I'm getting in so much debt, the doctors aren't much help sleepless nights I have my own business plus I work else where 8 hours a day in just drained stressed and don't know what to do for her, I've tried rubs, for her chest antibiotics, nasal sprays changing bedding often keeping her chest warm, cool when she has fever though, anyone have any advice or going through anything similar?

Thank you x

this sounds awful, hoping you are fairing ok and so is your little doll !
I've only got one little bubba and have never been through this before, so not really sure what to say...
maybe try and take her to gp / doctor again and insist they do something. otherwise try a & e because they are v useful there and will give you help / send you through to experts very quickly.
the main thing is get some time off your work and ask family if they can help you look after your baby? I'm sure they'd be happy too and having someone else to chat too may life your spirits (hopefully!)
otherwise I would say wrap her up warm and give her warm soup , something a friend told me worked for her bubba. I hope things look better soon darling, good luck xx

If she has a temperature again, is the temperature coming down with Calpol?

If she's vomiting, is she keeping down fluids?

dunyahassan · 16/02/2019 19:14

Thanks for the replies girls, Calpol works to an extent as it's very difficult to give her any type of medication she will absolutely not take it when in hospital admitted they had to give her paracetamol up the bottom so she would get her doses honestly the stress is too much at times, she's having plenty of fluids just not too much food, just vomiting often and also coughing, I am scared of giving too much Calpol so often on a on going basis, like an every day thing I mean surely it can't be good for them, hence why I'm at my wits end it's been going on for months with about 5 visits to our go go bed off 4 hospital visits and she was admitted for 4 days in Manchester, like this is not normal my other 2 never had anything like it, I get that kids get ill ECT but her chilfminders setting bone of the kids have been ill since all this started so it's nothing she's bringing home, Nd if it was watchable the other kids would have caught it off her so I'm planning a trip to gp on Tuesday and I'm not leaving that bloody office till they do somethingbabout it as I have no friends really, no family to help just me n hubby but he works too long hours and away from home so it's been bloody hard lately x

If you are worried about her at all, I wouldn't wait until Tuesday. Could you call 111 now?

This sounds SO stressful and it’s not on that the GP sent you off with little advice/help!

My daughter had D&V in November which led to a high temp and her first fit, Scarlett fever in December, fever and a cold in Jan for a week with a cough, as we start to get over that she wakes up on Friday with a fever again.

It’s relentless but she doesn’t sound as sick as your little girl, i’d Also camp out at the doctors til they help! Sending hugs

Well I'm taking her out of hours appointment at 6, and chatternatter sits awful isn't it hope your little one is feeling better just never ending but the doctors just keep saying oh it's a virus. She also has a rash on the forehead it's more red and angry looking when she cries ECT, she itches a little n the back of head is itchy too but no lice or anything lol, she also been getting random spots on her body that itch but isn't chicken pox, it's baffled me really has, I understand kids get coughs colds and viruses yes but this is beyond that, Nd as her mum I genuinely feel it's something else. I will write back once I have proper diagnosis though in case any one suffers the same x
