Three month old suddenly crying at boob - help

First time mum with three month old son, breastfeeding

He’s recently started crying at the boob. He will feed for 10 mins, I can see he’s getting milk from his messy lips and his mouth but then he will start crying.

My first feed is in bed lying side to side and he doesn’t do the crying then.
During the day I feed in the cradle hold on my lap sat on the sofa

He’s fine with a bottle of expressed milk and never screamed at my boob until this week.

Any ideas or advice?

Wind? Or maybe he's going through a growth spurt and your boobs haven't quite caught up with what he needs (I vividly remember one of mine punching at mineShock)?

Mine did this at the start of the 4 month sleep regression. She was 3months and a week when it hit us but crying / screaming at boob in the evenings were the first thing that started.

My baby did this - turned out to be oral thrush.

Have you tried doing breast compressions once his swallowing slows down?

IckleLegs1980 · 15/02/2019 22:34

Hi, yes have tried breast compressions too.
Tonight he only managed 20 seconds on my breast and then screamed yet took a bottle.

My post may not have been clear but he is fine feeding in the morning and does this screaming for maybe two feeds during the day out of 5/6

If it was oral thrush would be not be screaming all the time?
