Mine (5 &7) love both of those, and also the Narnia books, a reading book series called the Talisman series, Beast Quest, greek and Norse myths, the Worst Witch books and I have also read them some of the Diana Wynne Jones books starting with Charmed Life and the Lives of Christopher Chant. Also the novelisations of Dr Who.
