Doona car seat reviews

Hi All,

I’m pregnant with dc2 and need to buy a newborn car seat (owing to the fact I sold our first when I swore I wouldn’t have any children). The Doona looks really good in terms of the practicality for those journeys where I just need to pick dc1 from nursery and can’t park right outside. We already have the icandy peach which will be the main pushchair so I’m not looking for this to replace a pushchair but remember that clipping in a car seat with a heavy baby to the frame of the icandy was tough. Has anyone had the Doona and how have they found it? Unfortunately no where near me seems to stock it so can’t see it in action and didn’t know whether the concept is better than the reality?
Thanks

I have the doona, and it's amazing! We used it every day (alternating with baby in a sling every couple of hours) and I love it. It even fits down the aisles of buses/trains, and whilst it is quite heavy, you spend so little time carrying it, that it doesn't matter.

When it's pouring with rain, and you just want tui get a pint of milk from the shop, you'll see other people getting soaked, reassembling travel systems, putting the wheels back on (where it wouldn't otherwise fit in the boot), flapping round with chassis and trying to attach the car seat, and you'll press a button, release the doona and stroll off.

I'd get a cheap second pram if you want to go out all day and don't want to use a sling, but we certainly got our moneys worth with the doona.

Ahhh fab! Thanks sleeplikeasloth, think I’m going to bite the bullet and get it! I found putting the car seat into the pushchair chassis so much of a faff first time round it will be impossible when I go out with a toddler in tow!
