8wk old grazing

I need help! My 8wk old baby is stuck in a habit of grazing. He is formula fed and will only take 2oz at a time, but every 1-2 hours. During the day this is manageable but at night it is killing us. He is gaining weight so overall he has enough food, so that isnt an issue.

Someone suggested trying to stretch out the time between feeds, but he just cries and cries. I have postnatal depression and cannot handle the crying. Im not strong enough.

I just dont know what to do.

This is perfectly normal for an 8 week old whether formula or breast fed. It should get easier over the next few weeks!

Sometimes it helps to hold them in different positions or even lay them down in their cot and offer the bottle. When our daughter is very tired she won't drink much when I'm holding her but will drink most of the bottle if I lay her in her cot.

I’ve BF all of mine but would say it’s pretty common at this age.

Have you tried winding him and then offering the bottle again? I find if they’ve had a good burp it usually makes room in their tummy for more milk.
