Hi my 11 week old seems to still want to sleep all day is this normal? She’ll stay awake for around 45 minutes at the very most so I really only get chance to feed and change her then she’s getting cranky because she’s tired. When she is awake I try to okay with her I get a few smiles out of her but then that soon turns to screams and crying. Is it normal for her to want to sleep all the time? And please tell me the angry stage soon passes she’s seems unhappy most of the time and it makes me think am I doing anything wrong. She slept a lot yesterday as well and slept from 7-5 last night. She has just got over a cold and I noticed the past few days her pop has been abit runny. Anyone have any suggestions, it’s getting me down that my child is so unhappy ☹️

She wont be unhappy. If you're unsure about anything speak to your GP or health visitor. At that age mine were awake most of the day and asleep during the night, but they did have the odd day they wanted to sleep more, probably a growth spurt. I would try waking her gently and stimulating her, showing her toys and talking to her to keep her awake for longer periods.

As long as she's taking her feeds and is bright and alert at times, even if that is screaming, she will be fine Smile

You might find she wakes up a bit more soon - I remember a big change in this around 12 weeks.
