Is it period or an urinary infection?

My 8.5 year DD has started today to have some pinkish blood. We are not ( especially hee but me as well) sure whether that blood is vaginal or urinary. She also has some tremor after peeing and pees every few minutes. I 've talked to my paediatrician who says she does not have any reason to expect period at this age ( where I live paeditric visits and tests are very often) and believes it's an urinary infection.we.will take a urine sample for test but I have never heard an infection to include so much pinkish blood.usualy the blood in urine is seen in microscope only.
I feel it's a period or a pre period as there is spotting on her underwear and on paper.
Any similar experience?

UTIs can produce visible blood. I had pee like rose wine once. The symptoms you describe sound like a UTI.
