Do you put twins in the same cot?

My sister is having twins and is struggling with either getting two Moses baskets or a Chico next to me and putting them together. What did you do?

My twins are in Moses baskets at the side of my bed. They are six months now, but still small as premature. I’m moving one into a next to me this week and the other one will bed share with me and dh (he ends up in with us nearly every night anyway)

I’m not sure how long a next to me will last for two babies? They aren’t very big!

Their being delivered at 35 weeks so should be really small

What do you mean she's struggling with getting 2 moses baskets?
I had twins I had 2 moses baskets but would often put them in one together during day but seperate at night time and nap time do that they could get to sleep by themselves

I put them (top and tail) in the same cot until they were nearly 1. They slept better together. They are now 6yrs old and despite having separate beds still tend to climb in with each other at some point in the night most nights.
They were also prem and I loved that they were together.

She doesn't know whether to separate them or keep them together. That's what I mean @Hollowvictory she's also not got a lot of space.

Ah OK.

Mine were in together until too big. I found they settled better together and weren’t disturbed by each other. They are nearly 10 still share a room by choice ( boy/ girl twins).

@hp2 I'm no expert on twins but I always thought they were better off being together. Plus they look cute side by side ☺️

They do look cute! My girl could be screaming in her brothers face and he would stay fast asleep. We soon learnt we didn’t have to scoop one out of the cot as soon as they made a noise. Mine were in special care and once they were at the just “ be fattened up stage” they put them in the same cot as they said in their experience they did better quicker when together!

Oh and we never bothered with Moses baskets.

defnotadomesticgoddess · 06/02/2019 16:49

To start with we had 2 Moses baskets for the lounge and one cot in our room that they shared. When they got too big to comfortably share they had a cot each.

I could never put mine together when tiny. My little girl would scream in horror whenever her brother went near herGrin
