Do babies cry / moan a lot when they're trying to walk?

My DS was a fairly late crawler - he was about 11 months when he started. He's now 1 and since the start of January he has cut all 4 of his first molars, had hand, foot and mouth and now he's pulling himself up on things confidently and trying to walk.

He's utterly miserable though - so clingy and constantly bursting into tears (which is not like him) its almost like he's frustrated. He also cries everytime he plonks down on his bottom (which surely can't hurt!?)

I know he's had a lot on recently the poor chap, so I don't blame him for being a bit needy. Just wondered if this has been a 'thing' for any others?

My DD was like that just before she rolled, crawled and walked. It was like frustration knowing she wanted to do it but couldn’t quite manage it

Is the crying when he drops to the floor or is he miserable when he bears weights on his legs?
