I have 2 DD’s aged 11 and 10. They both do after school activities but my 10 year old dances and has started to do more opportunities because of this.
I’ve had criticism that I don’t spend the same on them and I don’t but the 11 year old doesn’t want to do any of these pportunitues so I’m struggling to create the balance.
Has anyone got any advice?

Who is criticising you?

I would offer you child a range of other activities eg martial arts, swimming, football or whatever exists in your area. If they want to try them then great and if not that’s fine too.

Have you spoken to your older child? Is she ok with not doing as much?

You might want to join some of us over on the Preteens Section too. Lots of MNers in there dealing with all things Preteen Smile
