Always Hungry. Help!

Our little one is just over 3 weeks old. Initially we were breast feeding bit she was losing weight so we had to supplement breast with formula. She has now gained weight and is at a weight where she should be. We are still combination feeding. Up until a couple of days ago she was having a fairly settled sleeping and eating pattern. The last couplef days though from lunch time onwards she has become insatiably hungry.

We can literally feed her a bottle and she will take the whole 120 ml and then almost immediately she is still hungry. We put her on the breast and she will settle but as soon as we stop she is screaming the place down again showing all the signs of being hungry. Another bottle will go down but still not settling and seeming hungry.

We are worried about over feeding but at the same time if she is hungry we don't want to upset her. Everything else seems okay, nappies, winding etc and she does settle later at night.

Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

Hi there :-) i remember asking the midwife this, her reply was 'she just wants her mom'. Its like my OH said, in the wild she would be on your breast 24/7 until she is mobile and starting solids. I found this daunting as at the time i needed rest! It was too much! I found they settle down. Just try to take care of yourself.

My baby settled down around 8 weeks old and from then to now started feeding every 2-3 hours rather than constantly.
