We have the class bear this weekend. We said we were going ice skating with him as a reward for child getting learner of the week. A couple of weeks ago she said 'bloody' shoes. I went through all the reasons why she shouldn't say it etc etc. She promised she wouldn't. Hubby says bloody and she obviously copying.

She's just walked in our room and followed her little sister and said 'look at that bloody dress' Absolutely fed up! Do I still take her ice skating? Do I give a sanction? Help. What would you do?

Is your husband still saying it?

Not regularly, not every day but he has and I always tell him in front of her it's not what we say

Stick with the ice skating. That’s a reward. Discuss another small sanction for the swearing with your husband and ask HIM to put it in place and explain why.

Don't go ott about it or make a big deal of it. It just encourages them.
A simple no is enough otherwise they will carry on for the reaction.

Thank you. I've spoke to her and said the reward is for her hard work at school and the swearing is not acceptable and will not be rewarded. Thanks again
