What differences did you notice between boys and girls?

Apart from the obvious

My DD will happily sit for hours painting, colouring, cutting, sticking. Happy to be left to play by herself without being whiney. Asks loads of questions, will do as she is told etc. etc.

DS bored after 30 seconds, whines if things aren't exactly right, hits, throws.

I know it's all normal but curious to hear other examples.

dd not interested in banging, throwing, noisy toys etc (unless her brother is doing it) ds never carried teddies round or attempted to give them milk, like dd does
ds had awesome tantrums from 1.5 until 2.5
dd does a bit of mild stamping feet and turning on waterworks but not much else. There are HUGE differences between them, although they do get on v well

my experience completely the opposite!
DS always been tranqui (ish!) - as a toddler could play for ages on his own, will now amuse himself for hours in the house but strangely enough is quite needy in terms of friends and is very sociable.
DD has always been high-maintenance, as a toddler would never play on her own for very long, has always made way more mess than DS and played far more noisily! However now she's older she's less socially needy than her brother and can take or leave a lot of her friends really!

I have 6 ds's and 2 dd's and i have to say all my boys are/have been different. Some placid and easy to entertain, others wingey and get bored easily. Some clingy, some always looking for a way to escape..lol

My 2 girls have been quite similar though, very confident and always amazed by new things they learn and discover.

One thing i have noticed is that my wingiest baby of all, who hardly smiled and looked stroppy through toddlerhood, who is now 6, is still exactly the same!

Noise. I had 3 extra girls in the house yesterday and I literally didn't notice that they were there.

With DS I noticed that as soon as he could hold 2 things (1 in each hand) he would bang them together, the louder the better!

Boys sort out differences by fighting, girls by bitching .

That is very true fairy...but once the fight is over boys are usually mates again. With girls it drags on for days and days!

DS is also like the two out of Little Britain. He'll want 'that one' and then you give it to him and he immediately wants the opposite. E.g. milk rather instead of juice. Not that I give in. He's more stubborn too. Will stare at me in a 'what are you going to do about it' sort of way as he tips his juice all over the floor.

6 girls, 3 boys. Any differences in them have been due to personality rather than gender. The only time some differences possibly due to gender become apparent has been around about 12-14 ish. And even then I suspect it's more to do with peer influences.
