Tommee tippee prep machine - is it safe???

Sorry if this has been posted before....

I have 5 week old twins and they were born at 34 weeks, because they were a bit early in quite over the top with cleanliness etc. I have heard great reviews about the perfect prep machine But I’m skeptical! I’m worried it’s not sterile and I’ll make my babies really poorly 😔

Has anyone had any experience with it? Good or bad? I’m so tempted to use it but there is a part of me that’s too frightened of using just incase I make them poorly!

We used one, no problems. Make sure you use the correct tommee tippee filter and you will have no issues.

Also ds was born at 34 weeks too :)

And is doing well now at 4 years.

Peanut91 · 26/01/2019 22:36

I love mine and have had no problems.

As pp said you need to make sire you use the correct filters, also make sure you clean the machine regularly in line with TT recommendations

It puts the hot water in the powder first, so it kills the germs first, then adds the cold water.

A perfect ready made bottle at the correct temperature every time

Congratulations on your twins. The perfect prep was a God send for my two especially since I spent so much time on my own with them. 2mins and bottles were ready to drink.

Just follow instructions, change the filter and clean tubes. They’ll be fine.

FartnissEverbeans · 27/01/2019 08:25

We had no issues and I would use it again.

SheChoseDown · 27/01/2019 09:08

Just take a flask of boiling water and some cooled water up with you. No tubes, no filters, no faff. Ready in 20 seconds.

TulipsInbloom1 · 27/01/2019 09:09

SheChose how do you know you've used the right amount of water?

Highfever · 27/01/2019 09:11

Look up first steps nutrition website. They expressly warn against it. Considering how Tommee tippee weren't forthcoming with info I'd steer clear too.

SheChoseDown · 27/01/2019 09:31

I just look at the bottle, there's measurements on the side.

Smoggle · 27/01/2019 09:33

It doesn't make up bottles to NHS/WHO/manufacturers guidelines so I guess it is taking something of a risk.

LegoCardSwapper · 27/01/2019 09:34

I'm using mine for my third baby now and have no problems at all. I run the cleaning cycle regularly, only use tommee tippee filters etc and have checked all the tubes at the back. They are completely clear despite the prep machine being 5 years old.

LoisLittsLover · 27/01/2019 09:34

Avoid at all costs, they're germ factories

TulipsInbloom1 · 27/01/2019 09:35

shechose yes but it won't add up right. If you are making e.g. a 90ml bottle and the powder goes in first followed by 90ml of water then it goes over the 90ml line (as it should). You don't just top up to the 90ml line.

rainflowerstar · 27/01/2019 09:36

Loved mine was a lifesaver and all my friends have used one and all the babies and children are all healthy. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Kab30 · 27/01/2019 09:39

It is fab and has made my life soooo much easier xxx honestly you will be fine xx

fruityb · 27/01/2019 09:41

I loved ours and never ever had any problems. Just run the clean cycle once a month and change the filters as and when.

Made life loads easier. I am of the opinion they wouldn’t be allowed to sell them if they were as dangerous as some people make out. Just keep it clean as you would anything else.

SheChoseDown · 27/01/2019 09:58

I am putting the correct amount in. I promise 😜

myotherbagisgucci · 27/01/2019 10:43

Another vote here, for how good the perfect prep machines are! ✋🏼

I used mine for DD1 and will be using the same machine again for DD2!

This was by far the BEST baby purchase we made! 🍼

Nala8 · 27/01/2019 10:50

The prep machine has been a life saver for us! Especially for the night feeds in the beginning before he slept through Grin

chicken2015 · 27/01/2019 10:53
