How can I help DS and DD cope emotionally when I'm away on work trip?

Hi! I've been a SAHM since my two were born. Odd bits of work and rcently became Work at Home parent. I'm suddenly off to India for 11 days leaving DH in charge (that's another topic!).
There will be the chance for video calls but I don't want to promise they will be nightly although the time difference is OK
As my 2 love advent calendars, my main idea is to leave an envelope for them toopen for each morning with a heart post it note inside with a message, and a small joint present for each of the 2 weeknds, ie Dobble and Lego. Maybe a chart with days to tick off?
And get them involved in preparation eg looking at maps .. Any other ideas I can use please?!

My dcs are 4, 9&11. I’ve never been away from them for 11 nights either and I’m pretty sure they would find that hard if I did go away that long. DH is a very capable parent, and has plenty of time in sole charge whilst I work evenings and weekends. But I know the children would miss me dreadfully.

DH is going away next month for 16 nights. I know they will equally miss him dreadfully during that time.

I don’t think you’re over thinking this OP. I just think every family set up is unique. We have no family support for example. Neither of our mothers have ever babysat in 11 years. So our dcs have never been used to sleep overs or different baby sitters.
Your children will adapt. It won’t stop you worrying, but it will work out ok.
