Moving bad sleeper into their own bedroom

Hi, I have a 6.5 month old DS and I've been preparing to move him into his own room, but he's a really terrible sleeper.

He's never slept well, is ebf and wakes up screaming anywhere between 6-10 times a night. It's really exhausting and I've ended up taking him from the cot and into bed with me most nights in an effort to get slightly more sleep. I'm keen to get DP back into our bed (he's in the spare room at the moment as he has a very physical job) but is it worth trying to move the baby into his own room if he's still sleeping badly? I'm starting to feel like it might never end.

I guess what I want to know is, can anyone who has dealt with a similar situation tell me how it went for them? How did you cope? Did moving baby into their own room somehow improve their sleep?

Mine have slept better in their own room but then all children are different. Try it and see how it goes , that's the only way of knowing really
