I have a wriggly, 11lbish 4 week old DS who I'd really like to get used to a sling. We have a Close Caboo Lite and despite watching numerous videos I just can't get it right. I am overseas and we have no sling libraries and babywearing consultants are pricey so trying mumsnet first!
- When I lift the baby in, he ends up too high up - top of his head level with my mouth not under my chin, but I can't work out how to lower him without making the whole thing too loose. I'm 5ft2 with a short torso - could this be part of the issue? The crossover bit at the back also seems to ride up when I put him in and ends up on my upper back.
- Should the baby's head be covered by the fabric strap even when awake? I can see how this could work when he's sleeping but so far he's been awake/woken up each time I've tried and wants to throw his head backwards, not tuck it under a strap... maybe this is a positioning issue too?
I really want to persevere as it actually feels quite comfy and supportive, it's just impractical as I have to support his neck with my hands so I'm obviously going wrong somewhere. We also have an ergo 360 which we haven't tried yet but I thought the caboo would be cosier while he was tiny...
