5 month old with 5 naps a day

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this? My daughter is coming up to 5 months and is a cat napper and only naps for 30 mins. And I think because of that she can only stay up for an hour and a half max. This means she has 5 naps a day!!

I’m really struggling to get out and do anything as she will also only sleep in a dark room or in the pram. But the pram has to be moving! As soon as I stop she wakes up. So doing anything at all makes it difficult. I’ve not had more than an hour or so out with her since she was born as it’s so hard. I’ve trier keeping her up when I visit people but she just kicks off when she gets tierd. So she definately needs the naps.

Is there anyway I can try spread out her naps, or do you think this is just her schedule? Her naps are pretty much at the same time each day! She’s going to nursery at 7 months and there is no way she’ll be put down for that amount of naps. :(

As she gets older her naps will probably consolidate a bit so that she’s doing fewer, but longer, naps. Perfectly normal. I have a similar age baby and if I hold him for the duration of his nap he will go longer - sometimes 2hours plus so I try and do that for at least one nap a day to make sure he has a good chunk of sleep in him.

The moving buggy situation is also common - we have a snooze shade and a rockit which helps give it some notion although unfortunately our little will only do 45 minutes max.
