My son

Hi, this is my first post. My son is almost 4 and has severe global development delay and autism. He has no sense of danger, very difficult to find foods to eat, don't let me brush his teeth. He's non verbal and still in nappies. Although he's almost 4 his brain is around the age of 12-15 months. I'm looking for a special pushchair, I've seen the McLaren, although these don't suit all his needs. The ones I've found that do are over £1000, was wondering if there's any where to get one using his dla, like adults do with cars??? Long shot hopefully someone can help. Thanks for reading

You can get a specialist push chair from your OT just request one. My dd has the same diagnosis + a rare syndrome and hated me brushing her teeth. Buy him an electric toothbrush and let him do it himself at least it will be an improvement on your ds trying a manual toothbrush. My dds teeth are fine she hasn't needed too much intervention from the dentist. Which foods will/won't he eat my dd prefers cold finger foods to hot meals.

My son to prefers cold finger snacks the only warm or other food he will eat is fray bentos tinned meatballs. I've seen the OT can offer a pushchair but seems to be the McLaren type and that's not suitable for what he needs. I will definitely try an electric toothbrush, thanks 😀
