Only wash with water. Keep naked as much as possible. Use a very thin layer of mentanium nappy cream. If it does not get better they may need a mild steriod cream.

Calpol for the pain too.

Nurofen and anbesol oil are best for the teething pain.

Thank you. Its the bottom stinging psin ftom the poo which is causing the pain. She has started on new nappies I wondered if they are reacting to his skin when soiled.

Metanium is the best thing I've come across for nappy rash. That and lots of air time out of the nappy.

I had to get steroid cream for my dc when teething and it made a difference within hours. Amazing stuff 😊

BlacknWhitePanda · 11/01/2019 16:53

I found that as much air time as possible helps.
I also found that ds got more acidy when teething so we cut out tomato's, oranges and other citrus fruits during this time

Agree airing the bottom and metanium good. What worked for us was bepanthen ointment (not cream) as it's sticky and stays put especially if you cover it with some sudocreme on top. Poor soul x

OneToThree · 11/01/2019 17:06

Thick metanium with thick sudocrem over the top applied to a clean dry area.
I was told that’s what they use for bed sores. It really helped ds.

Jackshouse · 11/01/2019 18:05

Sudocrem is not used for bedsores anymore.

Overseasmom100 · 13/01/2019 15:02

All settled diwn now after applying 2 thick layers. Poor thing he teethed from 3 months and is now 18 months with loads of teerh even 4 big molars

Here's another vote for Metanium. God, I love that stuff.

sar302 · 13/01/2019 17:06

Metanium is the only thing that works for us when DSs bottom gets that sore. Apply it every time. Change nappies regularly, and get some air to it. Avoid the bath if it stings.

Rach000 · 13/01/2019 22:06

Metaunim was the only cream that really helped when my dd had nappy rash from teething. Sudacrem didn't get rid of it.

booellesmum · 13/01/2019 22:10

Wash with water. Dry with a hair dryer on low - this was recommended by my GP who said really important to make sure you are not trapping any moisture when you put cream on.
Then a very thin layer of metanium.
Hope it's better soon.
