I have no advice. Similar situation here. My son (7) has autism and he is hard work. He is a constant ball of energy from the moment he wakes up (around 5-6am) until he goes to sleep (which can take a while). Fortunately he’s never been violent, but he’s very shouty, stubborn, hard work and can quite often be quite nasty to DD (3). Snatching off her, she has to share with him but he doesn’t her (according to Charlie l), shouting at her etc. She is learning to stick up for herself now though. He kicks off if he doesn’t get his own way too and never does what he’s told. He has no sense of danger.
The Christmas holidays were a nightmare. Everything out of routine, being excited but overwhelmed. He had me in tears most days.
Do you have much support? A partner, family, friends, professionals, other asd parents, are the school supportive? I don’t really have many people and it’s very lonely at times. Most of my friends have NT children and don’t really understand, my family dont really understand and we have been signed off by every professional now he’s been diagnosed. Fortunately the school are great...
My sons obsessions rule his life which can be hard work. He is obsessed with lifts and if we go anywhere with a lift, you can’t get him away without a screaming fit.
There are some fab autism groups on Facebook where you can discuss things with other parents. I am on a few. It’s nice to know others are going through the same thing.
Big hugs ❤️
