Raising children is definitely not for the faint hearted I know and if only there was a manual.
My problem is my 15 year old daughter. I don’t seem to have any say anymore. She goes against most things that I ask of her and that may make her sound like she’s going off the rails but she’s not and generally she is quite sensible but is stubborn etc. She had a boyfriend for quite a number of months. From a nice family etc but has recently broken up with him and a number of things have come out since, like he was a bit possessive and I think she was struggling to keep the peace. She’s now takennup with a boy from school who’s she know for a few years but has or had a pretty crap reputation,. Typical bad boy syndrome probably. I caught her with him and confronted her and him and to be honest, he actually gave a good account of himself and hubby and I decided to allow it, with the hope that she would move on sooner rather than if we forbade it and it then became a big thing. His family are another matter and I have forbade her to go to his house. I don’t like to go on local chitter chatter gossip and do believe In giving people chances but I’m just so upset all the time, tearful and I really don’t feel up to confrontation etc. My husband says it will run its course and she has to make her own mistakes and it’ll sort itself out. I feel a complete failure as just feel generally I have given too much over the years and it’s getting flung back in my face. I know when I was young and I was told not to see “that boy”, it just became like “Love Story” in your mind and I really don’t want to push her further in that direction. I’ve told her I’m not happy and only going along with it, not encouragingly etc. I’m just so upset all the time.
