As above really. Gets distracted or isnt bothered. Sometimes takes 5oz then a bit sick. Had gaviscon but stopped coz of constipation. Feeds every 3 hoursish starts of wanting it then almost gets bored sometimes. Anyone have similar?

I had this exact problem a few weeks ago (DD now 5 months) she was really good and would take 8 ounces but the became like you described.

I think it was down to her teething as she kept chewing in the teat as well but she seems to have gone back to normal after 1 week.

I was thinkinb of moving her up a teat size but then she went back to how she was .

Hopefully its just a phase, as long as there are enough wet nappies and seems ok, i wouldnt worry just yet (just my opinion though)

I guess the most he has ever taken is 6. He does take 6 when asleep at dream feed and goinh to bed but we reduced tp 5 as lots of sick on day. Thank you u for reply. Matbe ill try size teats. He has had a cold and is chewing everything but always has done lol x

It is normal. I night weaned at 5 months and this increased the feeds to fewer, bigger feeds

My DD (who is now 16) only ever took 16-20oz a day. If I tried to add in extra bottles she would sick it back up so settled on a routine of 4 x 4/5 oz bottles a day. She was always a healthy weight and very content. My other 2 didn’t drink much more than that either.

Same with mine but now 5 months and taking 6/7 ounces. It's annoying but they do catch up.

Flatwhite32 · 07/01/2019 22:59

My nearly 6 month old DD takes 6oz max when given a bottle (expressed milk). I've occasionally offered 7oz, but it is either refused, or results in immediate upchuck. She is on the 9th centile for weight and could really do with taking more, but I can't force her. She is content though!

It's hellish but it will pass. Sounds like growth spurt/4 month sleep regression? It all comes in phases. Try not to worry it won't be like this every night even though it seems like it!

RockinRobinTweets · 08/01/2019 20:38

I just stopped feeding between dream feed and 7am. Only took 2 rough nights for it to transfer

SnowWhite26 · 08/01/2019 22:49

Did your baby not cry and cry until being fed? X

Dd 7months only takes at most 6oz per feed and only 4 or 5 feeds a day. GP isnt concerned, she’s small and has massive reflux issues so if we try to give her more it’s a disaster!

Gaviscon has helped us a bit, but GP has told us we will try something new in a couple of weeks if nothing picks up.

Is it a lot of sick? And do they cry a lot after it? Otherwise it seems a bit odd to have been prescribed gaviscon

SnowWhite26 · 09/01/2019 20:19

It isnt loads but 1 or 2 sachets of gaviscon really help. He has drained a 5oz bottle every 3 hours today but my friend fed him lol had 6oz before bed and will have 6 at dream feed
