Swaddlebees newborn or small?

I just got 2 newborn size Swaddlebees (the velour ones) for baby due in August.

Now they are absolutely gorgeously soft and cute. But, since last baby was 10lbs at birth, I don't imagine this one will be petite! It does look very tiddly.

Now newborn is supposed to do from 5-14lbs and small from 8-14. Does anyone know if in reality there's much difference in size? I know the newborn has the popper for the cord.

The small has an extra inch or so in the rise, and across the front (backs are the same).

1/2-1 inch bigger across the crotch too.

Looking though, the medium isn't that much more in comparison to the small, so it might be possible to go from xsmall to medium (and save money!).

I haven't tried any of them on a teeny one though!!
