Co- sleeping

If you co sleep with your baby/child what age was your child when you moved them over to their own bed/ room?
What made you decide that that was the right time to do it xx

I co-slept with DC2 as I couldn't manage bf otherwise. I always put her down in her own crib/cot at the beginning of the night though and brought her in with me the first time she woke. For various reasons, including a house renovation, she was in a cot in my room until she was 18 months. Othwiae I probably would have started putting her in her cot in her own room at 6 months like I did with DC1.

Even when she was in her own room, when she woke in the night and wouldn't settle I usually brought her into my bed. I'm afraid to say she's now 6 and still climbs into bed with me at some point most nights!

DC1 sleeps like a log and never had any interest in sharing with me.

My first was 3.5. Co sleeping was great and we all got loads of sleep so no reason to rock the boat. But she always had her own room and since she was a toddler, she’d go to sleep in her room and come into ours when she wanted to sleep with us after we came to bed (before that, I carried her in when she woke). She decided she wanted to start sleeping all night in her room ‘like big girl’ so we got rid of the extra bed in our room and off she went. It really wasn’t a big deal and it was totally driven by her. She’s slept pretty well in her own room since with no issues.

20 months. I was waking her up but then she moved into a double bed as we hopped in with her as needed.

DD - 16/17mo. Into a full size single so DH or I could get in with her as necessary

DS - 12mo. Double mattress on the floor before moving to a single bed at 18mo.
