First time mum here...
How do I start introducing cows milk to my 12 month old? Do I mix formula and cows milk? X

I have never mixed it, just swopped over and all three of mine were fine with it.

Orangedaisy · 29/12/2018 13:43

Have they had any yet? Like in cereal? Or are you only talking about bottles?

LokiDokiArtichoki · 29/12/2018 13:46

I started half and half from 11ish months and ds was switched fully by 13 months. He loves his milk now but spat it out as if it was poison when I first tried

I just swapped straight over with ds1 and had no problems. I plan to do the same with Ds2 in a months time. Try swapping it and see how you go.

I have topped up his porridge with cows milk . 4oz formula 2oz cows milk. It's more the full bottle in morning and before bed I was not sure about? X

Just try swapping it, see how they react. You may need to heat it up a little if they don’t like having it cold.

I just swapped it with no issue

confusedandemployed · 29/12/2018 19:15

Yeah, I just swapped and it was fine.

Lana1234 · 29/12/2018 19:56

Another one for just swapped it. My now DS 15 months didn’t even notice I don’t think

Happilyacceptingcookies · 29/12/2018 19:57

Just swapped it, DD had already had it warm from 6 months in porridge

Smurfy23 · 29/12/2018 20:48

If theyve had cows milk in cereal etc they will be fine in terms of reacting to it so that's not a worry.

We just gave it to her, didnt bother mixing it and she drank it. No bother!

loveskaka · 29/12/2018 22:13

Ok so just swapping it, it is then 😁. Thanks everyone x

Cow's milk is only good for one thing - for their own babies.

Caterina99 · 30/12/2018 01:00

Neither of mine would drink it just swapped over. (Clearly my kids are fussy)

I mixed it over a week. 6oz formula and 2oz cows milk etc until it was fully cows milk. They were fine after that!
