Getting baby to sleep in her cot

Hi was wondering if anyone could help with some advice. My daughter slept in her cot for around the first 3-4 months. I was up quite a few times in the night but she did sleep in there. Then it was if she realised that she was going to be alone so started hysteric screaming every time we tried to put her in there. We bought a next-to-me crib but even that didn't work. We have been co-sleeping for the last 3 months which is ok as we all get some sleep but means husband is in the spare room which is making us fairly miserable.
I would love to be able to get her to go to sleep in her cot at 7 in the evening and sleep there all night (I don't mind going to settle her). Has anyone got any advice?

My girl is six months and slept on me downstairs every evening and co-slept up until 2 weeks ago. I started by feeding her upstairs, getting her into her sleeping bag then laying her down awake and sat with her ssshing and rubbing her tummy until she went to sleep. First night it took an hour to get her down, second 30 mins then third night about five mins. I literally thought I'd never manage this as she has always slept with me. She does go in a sleepyhead which id recommend but they're not cheap
