Why can’t I order

Contact lenses online from Specsavers for my 15 yr old dd?

Specsavers will not accept an online order for anyone under the age of 18 apparently. I ordered them in my name and explained that dd has a current prescription from our local Specsavers and they can check with them but still no.
I don’t understand how it differs from me going into a Specsavers shop and buying them?
I just wondered if anyone has any in depth knowledge of this please?

I believe it’s because under 16’s have to have regular contact lens checks - we order my sons through the branch and they are delivered to the house

Thanks Lara. She has checks regularly, last one only a month ago.
Can I ring the branch and get them delivered free to home address then?

Free home delivery is part of the lensmail scheme. You may have to pay a small amount but often works out better than having to find the time and pay for petrol and parking.
And there are all sorts of legalities involved for supply of contact lenses for companies in the UK.
