Pre washing new cloth nappies

Hello,

FTM to be, with a collection of cloth nappies, some brand new, others preloved.

The brand new ones I know you have to wash multiple times before hand (I've read 2-3x) to increase the absorbency before use. But how do I actually do this? Can I just do 3 x 30 min washes and not dry in between, or do I need to do 3x full long washes and dry in between?

I have just washed the preloved ones on a 30 min wash and then dried and put away.

Thanks in advance.

They don’t need to dry between washes. Bamboo or cotton will take a while to get up to full absorbency but newborns don’t wee a huge amount so some of those washes can be “in usel
