Big seat in a shopping trolley

Does anyone know if there is an insert of some sort you can get to put in the child seat of a shopping trolley?

My DS is nearly 5mths old and he is uncomfortable in the baby seat things on the trolleys.
I need to get some bits from the shop but i cant push a trolley and a buggy.
Its too heavy to use a basket and a buggy.
I have a 3dr car so I can't get the car seat in and out with him in it. So can put the car seat in the trolley.

He can sit supported.

Is there anything I can put in the seat to support him?

I have looked online but can only find covers to stop baby licking the dirty trolley.

Any ideas?

Ikea sell highchair inserts, it might work in a trolley?

Wedge a blanket round him?

There probably is something out there
But I've not seen it. I used to just use my coat to wedge around them and their blanket either side and round the front x

I think I used a blanket rolled up as a wedge, but I saw someone in Tesco today using the Ikea high chair cushion which I thought was genius.

What about using a sling?

We used the double seat one instead of the single one while LO was still small. Fitted in better.

We had a firefly go to seat when my boys were little. Great for shopping trollies and swings at the park. I think they were older than your baby when we used it though.

I always just have the baby in the sling while I push the trolley then with any luck he just has a bit of a nosy round then snuggles in for a nap while I get the shopping done!

Maybe a silly question but you say can't get the car seat out of a 3 door, are you taking the seat out the door on the opposite side? I used to manage to get a bulky seat out via the drivers door on my old micra no problem!
