Fenugreek and breastfeeding

Hi all,

Has anyone ever had any outstanding results with fenugreek seeds or capsules? OH bought me some yesterday as I wanted to boost my supply. My HV also suggested lemonade with a pinch of salt to boost supply.

I thought they really helped for boosting my supply. But your burps will absolutely stink with them.

Lemonade and salt???? Really???? Wonder where she got that from..... I can’t imagine that is evidence based advice.
I did a literature review on fenugreek once and there isn’t a huge amount of robust evidence supporting its use to increase supply. Just wondering why you want to increase your supply.... is baby gaining weight and having lots of wet and dirty nappies??

I tried it but not sure it affected me much

I'm trying fenugreek at the moment but I don't feel it's making a difference. Expressing during the night is helping more. Going to keep at I'm the bottle is empty (I've been taking them for over a month) then if no change I'll stop. There is a link with fertility issues too so didn't want to be on them long term anyway.

It really helped but made DS constipated so I stopped after a little while.

Yes, really increased my supply. Also had over supply issues. Porridge oats are good too!
