5 year old started wetting himself again

My ds is 5 and has been dry since he was about 2.5. For about the last couple of months he has started wetting himself again. This isn't just an occasional thing, he constantly seems to have a wet patch at the front of his trousers.

As far as I'm aware there's nothing worrying him - he loves school and has loads of friends, and there are no stresses at home. We've tried the softly softly approach and also told him we're not happy with him, but still he does it. I'm going to get him checked out at the docs this week, but any suggestionsin the meantime?

Should possibly also add that he is totally dry at night - this is only happening during the day.
