Adoption social group

Hi, we are looking to join a nice group of parents who have adopted children. Our little boy does not know any adopted children & we would like him to meet others. We are in the Yorkshire area. We have a local group lead by social workers, which after lots of moves prior to coming to us our little one is not keen on! We just wanted a nice friendly group to meet on a regular basis. Does anyone have any knowledge that any groups exist in our area?? Thank you! (First time on this website!!) x

I don't know any in Yorkshire, but you will probably have more luck if you get this moved to the adoption section (just report your thread and explain what you want).

Best thing to do is contact local voluntary agencies and see whether they have any info.

NATP have local groups all over for families to support each other, if you Google them. So do Home for Good (Christian based charity) and I believe some areas are covered by Adoption UK groups. Once this is moved to the Adoption board you'll probably find people who have more ideas!
