8 week old screams when picked up

In the last couple of days my 8 week old DS has started screaming whenever I pick him up from the pram/changing mat/bouncer chair and I’m really worried that he might be in pain. He’s breastfed and is quite a windy baby, and he’s also started being very sick after every feed. He’s absolutely fine on his mat etc: kicks his arms and legs, smiles, gurgles etc - but the second I pick him he screams really angrily, goes bright red and rigid, and it takes ages to calm him down.
Has anyone else experienced this or have any thoughts about what it might be? Should I get him checked out?

I would get him checked out. He might be in pain like you say. Poor little chap that can’t be nice for either of you.

That sounds strange and can't be v nice for you, op. I'd definitely have him checked

I’d get him checked over...

Was it a forceps birth by any chance?

Thanks for the advice all, i’ll get him to the GP. TheSheepofWallSt, he was delivered by ventouse - do you think that could have something to do with it?

Great choice, better to check out so that you'll find out what's the problem.

Hi OP -
It can happen that babies born instrumentally have sore necks/ heads/ jaws from the birth. Often a few sessions with an osteopath or chiropractor specialising in birth injuries can set it right quite easily. If you search the boards you’ll find lots of threads on the subject.
Good luck! Smile
