DD video-messaging her firends on Insta - is that okay/safe?

Hi everyone! Hope you're all well and enjoying the count-down to Christmas. Here we have 3 girls and we've been loving putting the decorations up.

Anyway, so my question is: is it okay for my 15 year old DD to be using insta to video-message her friends (on her phone)? How safe is it? Does it leave video recordings out there in the internet forever? I'm not very tech-savvy. Insta just seems a bit scary!

Is there some other way for her to video-chat to her friends? She has my Dad's old Samsung (which is only 2yrs old and a very good phone) - so she can't face-time, unfortunately. Not like an i-phone.

Just looking for some advice, really. Thanks everyone. x

It can't be saved...so nobody could keep it for later viewing. My DD is 14 and very open with me...she says as long as your DD knows her boundaries and isn't someone who'd be encouraged to post inappropriate things, then it's completely safe.
