DS was such a happy chappy until about 2 weeks ago. Im just wondering whether anyone could shed light on what it might be

  • poor quality sleep, looks shattered on waking and cries to sleep more
  • hates baby sensory, just cries
  • gets grumpy often at home - wants me there to play ALL the time, i can get nothing done!!!
  • screams in the car

On the flip side, bath time he loves, same as any one to one time talking to adults

He has cut 3 teeth this week so im wondering if the teeth are causing it all. Hes on everyrhing teething related going and hes still in pain

Hes also on gaviscon for silent reflux

That’s great news the teeth have come through! And great news on the improved sleep too!

Still no teeth here, we’d had a couple of nights of good sleep but last night had been incredibly busy!! He went in his bath which he normally loves and was crying and clutching his mouth. We’ve had this on and off for months now. Hope he’s not like me, I didn’t get my first tooth till 13months.

I got some Anbesol liquid yesterday and I tried a bit in my gums too and it does seem pretty good for numbing them.

Anyway, coffee is my friend today, just drinking one while the baby is happily snoozing on top of me!

Hes still waking 4-5 times and not being that easy to settle BUT a massive improvement on 45mins to hourly wakes

Oh poor lil thing. Has the anbesol helped? Would you recommend it? Hope the teeth appear soon. We've had another 2 push through and he is much happier. Still chewing everything. Things still on the up with sleep?

Coffee is a fantastic saviour isnt it!!

Anbesol works fairly well, but isn't very long lasting. I've always used nurofen and calpol when teething as it seems to really help - plus it isn't like you end up having to use them persistently for months, only when little one is grumpy & really not themselves. Some pain relief might help the sleep and in turn, they'll start feeling better (often found teething resulted in coughs, colds, not wanting to eat so getting run down).

Yep the Anbesol is good but short lived, whereas calpol is pretty much instant relief and long lasting.

I’m going careful with foods at the moment as I think too much crunchy food is bothering his gums.

Still not great on the sleep, but if I’m honest I don’t expect that to change for a fair few months yet anyway! However we did get to go back to bed this morning and lie in till 10am which was heavenly!!

Still no teeth here and she's had a sinus infection which made things even worse. That's starting to clear up now wirh antibiotics and she's happier and sleeping better. It's no better than before the sinus infection but after 6 weeks, I'm getting used to it!

WRT Nurofen and Calpol, my gp was reassuring when I went in for some advice about how often we use it. He said as long as you don't exceed the daily dose, it's fine to give them as needed for teething pain as it's not masking a serious problem and there is no evidence that long term use is harmful.

How are you all getting on? We seem to be having a break from teething pains as 4 have appeared!! I now need to learn to brush his teeth Grin

His sleeping has improved too although hw seems adamant 5am is morning

Ouch to 5am! I we had a 5.30 start this morning but back to bed for an hour at half 7.

Had some terrible pain crying this morning, but still no sign of teeth! I wish they would just arrive already!!

I feel like teething has been causing issues here forever!! Are you all ready for Christmas?
