My 5 year old daughter recently went on a play date, it was planned something like this. They will pick both the kids from school and take them to watch a play and we'll join later for dinner. Everything went smoothly that day and it was indeed a good evening meeting another couple and knowing them.

However, my daughter is behaving a bit odd from then on. She told me she wants to live with them and not with us because their house is better than ours. She doesn't want to do late stay coz it is too late(my husband & I both work and she has to stay 1 n half hour extra at school, her play-date frnd doesn't do late stay).

Can you please let me know if this is normal behavior?

It's part of the kids growing but if you explain what is right and what is wrong, the does and don'ts she will understand it but not quickly for now because she doesn't know what she is talking hence, she needs proper guidance by parents.

Yep, that's all normal. She is starting to realise that not everyone lives as she does - it's part of life !

Thank you for getting back PaulMorel. Can you please help explain the proper guidance by parents bit. How should I respond to this kind of stuff - should I ignore them or address them? if addressing them-how?
