12 week old - do I wake her??

Help!

My 12 week old can only really stay up for an hour / hour and a half max before needing to go down for a nap.

She goes down for naps amazingly well as long as we get her in the sweet spot of not to over tierd. However, lately she’s been waking up a lot more at night and is taking an hour to three to get down at night.

She naps for around 30mins to an hour each time in the day. She naps in her own room as she’s too alert to sleep anywhere else in the day other than a dark room. Our original problem was she was hugely over tierd and is now a much happier baby!

My issue is I don’t know if she’s getting to much sleep? Like she’s still asleep now after going down at half 4. We don’t have a schedule - partly because we just follow her routine but also if we miss naps or try to schedule them it just seems pointless and she fights it!

Her normal bed time is 7pm. I don’t know whether to wake her or let her be?? Worried her naps are what’s causing her to suddenly be tough to get down and stay down at night.

Feel like I’m failing at nap / bed time massively!

This may not work for every baby, but I try and make sure there is an hour and a half - two hours between last nap wake up and bedtime. Otherwise DS fights going down. Unless he is clearly tired before 7 then of course we go up earlier. So normally I try and get the last nap to end around 5pm. I probably wouldn't wake him up before it got to about 5:45. I would just adjust bedtime accordingly

Just when you think you have a routine in place, they grow and change. What she needed a fortnight ago is probably different from what she needs now. They change all the time Smile

She probably does need a bit less sleep during the day now.

Thanks :) I’m currently going off her tierd ques e.g rubbing eyes, yawning. Maybe I need to wait a bit longer to get her down. It just seems to be working so well!

Night time has always been a nightmare to be fair..!
