Look into it a lot first. A lot. Most people have hugely unrealistic expectations; formed when it was the new thing on the internet, and times have changed. It might not bother you at all and you still may want to do it; but go into it with your eyes open.

You will need to show your face; you usually need to be free for chats for long periods to build regulars, you'll need to be willing to interact and let people pay you small amounts (usually £1/£5/£10) to do exactly what they request from you. You'll need a lot of lingerie and usually a niche. The stats last year showed most lucrative requests were for "extreme forms of anal"; which at work we classify as being paid to insert specific large objects on camera. There can be quite a lot of waiting around until you build up a pool of regulars.

It's not really lucrative anymore. My work offers some professional support to people who used to do it; to prevent them being dragged into escorting and things to make the money that they used to make before the prevalence of porn.

If you're okay with all that; you usually find a cam company and interview. Most of the time they'll have a two stage process; you apply with your details and a test cam session to ensure your equipment/space/niche are what they want; and to see how good you are. Then you get started. If you work for a US company; be careful with the tax documentation.

Choose cam girl as a career and you will still be skint.

Have a rethink.

No I was just kidding. I haven't the confidence anyway 😂

Thanks though

What a pointless post op.
There are people in ALL kinds of jobs on this site so if you ask for advice you will be sure to get it. a PP took her time to really talk you through it. But you were 'joking'. 🙄

Does your university offer any bursaries or hardship grants to loan parents?

Nina92 · 23/11/2018 11:21

It was mostly a joke but I have definitely considered it before. I doubt I'd consider it again after the information I got from Anchor.
