Could this be the 4 month sleep regression?

Hi everyone,

My DS is only 13 and a half weeks but I am starting to suspect he may be going through the "4 month" sleep regression.

He has always been a pretty good daytime and night sleeper (although his day naps have shortened a lot in the last 3/4 weeks). He has also always been a fairly decent self settler when put down drowsy.

However for the last week he has been a nightmare at sleep times. It has taken up to two hours to get him to nap and sleep at night. He can be "asleep" or drowsy but will shoot back to wide awake when put down and cry until I pick him up again. I will pick him up. Cuddle and rock him. Nurse him if necessary. Put him down when seemingly asleep. Cycle repeats. This goes on until he is so over tired he will cry and scream in my arms. I am making sure I start getting him ready for sleep when he starts showing tired signs and no longer than two hours since his last nap. He will also wake up from naps after half an hour and often he is still tired but I can't get him back to sleep again so he will then be really grumpy.

The first stint of night sleep between 7:30/8 and 2:30/3 is good normally but he will sometimes wake up midnight. But after that he is up every two hours.

Does this sound like it could be an early sleep regression or something else?! My back can't take much more rocking for hours on end 😓😓

TIA!!
