I am concerned about technology in our household...

...I want to know if anyone else feels the same.

I am feeling under a lot of pressure to let our 3 children use phones / tablets etc because all their friends are. I am concerned about the social pressure it is creating for them in terms of keeping up with their friends (my 9 year old can have over 100 messages in an evening), as well as exposure to content that is clearly not age relevant.

Trying to work out how big a concern this is to others to see whether I can get support from their school to address this by showing that others are worrying about the same things.

It is a bit of a lost cause for us ... our youngest has started secondary and school has a policy of using ipads as learning tools ..

Thank you for your comments. My hope was that I could encourage the school to communicate a collective concern to other parents so that I would have a greater weight to my ‘argument’ when combatting my children’s requests for ‘fairness’ in relation to screen time and what apps etc they are using.
