Curious to find out how other parents work evenings with a 12week old.

What time do you have last nap and/or by which time has it ended by
Verses what time is bed time?

Yesterday lo didn't nap well at all was awake hrs then slept almost 6hrs from 7.30pm which was great since I'm so tired and I got some lovely sleep , but usually takes hrs to get to sleep in evening then sleeps around 2hr blocks all night so wondering if I should push lo to awake longer in the evening.

My daughter is 12 weeks today. We don’t have a schedule yet as I don’t see the point. If she’s not tried she just won’t sleep anyway. So I fight a loosing battle!

Only thing I do try is taking her up st 7pm. I do try and have her waking up from a nap about an hour and a half before this (she seems to only be able to stay awake for this amount of time until she gets over tierd). I’d say average time to get her fully asleep in the evening is 2 hours...she normally goes down ok but Wakes up every 10/15 mins or so for a while 🙄

She normally wakes every 2 hours too :( she lulled us into a false sense of security last week by waking up every 4! But it’s gone back to normal. Sometimes she does 3 but she can’t get past that..

I don’t have a set time for naps I forgot to add. I’m just trying to put her down when she looks sleepy and it seems to be working well. If I don’t miss her sweet spot she goes down like a dream. Why she can’t do that at night I don’t know! Ha

Thanks @cj1990 I don't do set times for naps either just when tired although I can't actually remember the last time I put lo down for a nap, always in my arms or at breast.
Last night took 3hrs to get into bed almost breastfed all that time. My poor boobs.

@2lilcherubs yep three hours last night too! Went down for an hour at 7 then back up fighting it until 9 / 10.

We’ve started putting her to sleep upstairs this week which is really helping. We leave her to moan and grizzle for a bit (not proper cry) and she seems to be going down way better as long as we get her in the sweet spot of tierd but not over tierd. Feel a bit grim leaving her on her own to grizzle but cruel to be kind I see it..she seems a lot happier!

I don’t know why she hates going down at night but who knows!

@CJ1990 mines didn't go down at all in those three hours. I'm trying to put down in bed too since all I do once sleeping is tidy up and shower neither which is in the sitting room with the basket anyway.
I'm struggling to be able to put mine down to settle themself of not in a deep sleep with wake and cry. Nightmare during the night when I'm sat holding baby long enough to out down.

@2lilcherubs do you let baby winge a bit? Sometimes doesn’t work and it’ll turn into a full cry but other times she’ll switch off if I don’t go in for winging. Not tonight though...keeps turning into a cry so currently on the boob...!

@cj1990 mines doesn't whinge will go to ful blown screaming match. Falls asleep at boob then out down ping wide awake I leave but within 1min will start crying back up back on boob and repeat.
