Er. We might need a touch more information...?

  • how do YOU feel about that?
  • can the two of you afford a SAHP?
  • would he do a good job or the bare minimum?
  • would his personality suit being a SAHP?
  • how long would you see the arrangement as being for?
  • would you be willing to pay into a pension for him or otherwise ensure he ends up with assets of some sort?
  • are you prepared to take the risk that he remains the resident parent if you split?

Do you want to be a SAHM?
Can you afford for him to be a SAHP?

I think there the 2 main ones that Spring to mind to start with, once those have been answered then you can work through the rest.

Depends imo if he is using dc as an excuse to stay home on a games console all day or if he intends to run the home so to speak.
My dh is a sahp and a bloody good one.
Exh had ds one day a week and was shite.

These things are usually discussed before conception. If your DS is already here, you've left a massive decision a bit late.

It depends whether you can afford it and whether you wanted to be the one to stay at home: if you wanted to stay at home you could compromise and see if you can both go part time or if you’re happy to go back to work and can afford it then him being stay at home dad would be fine surely
